Merging figuration with mythology, creating surreal worlds that blur time, history, and identity PM/AM is pleased to present a solo exhibition of new works by Shyama Golden.

The title of the show “Too Bad, So Sad, Maybe Next Birth” refers to a saying Shyama’s parents would use when an event would go differently than planned, and it reflects her meditation on fate, agency, and the continuous cycles of life. These works revolve around this idea of reincarnation, with Maya, her masked alter ego, reappearing across different eras and identities, exploring Shyama’s metaphorical past lives.
